Day 8: Tavern, decorations, and Auto Sugar Cane Farm

Today I really wanted to figure out why my crops weren't growing. Apparently, at some earlier time, I had changed the Random tick speed to 0. So basically nothing would grow or spawn. Here is a tip for all you readers: If you want your crops to grow super fast, then set your random tick speed to anything above 20. Here is the command: /gamerule randomTickspeed 20 (Change the last number to what you want it to be. Also remember that if you do fiddle around with the tick speed and you want to change it back to normal, the normal Minecraft tick speed is 20. Anyways, I built an automatic sugar cane farm where basically you do not have to do anything and it will farm itself. Here is a picture:
I basically just used a hopper timer and connected that to a row of pistons. The pistons then retract and extend with the timer. Finally, this leads to a tower of droppers that brings it right into my chest. It is not the most efficient, but it does the job. I decided to also add some decorations, including a small market and a few carts.
The last thing that I built was a tavern on a small boardwalk thing. Here is a picture:
I am going to use this store potions later. Anyways, thank you for reading this, and leave your suggestions for what you want me to build in the comments!

Day 7: Storage House and Upgraded Tools

Today I got fed up with not having good tools, so I mined for a really long time and pulled a bit over a stack of diamonds out. I would say that is pretty good because I have been low on diamonds for a long time. I then made a full set of diamond tools and diamond boots. Also, I AFK Fished overnight, so now I have a TON of enchanted books, fishing rods, fish, and bows. Another thing that I did was build a storage house for my goods. I kept running out of chest space in my little house, so I upgraded. Here is a picture:
The big project that I was talking about in my last post is this: I really want to build a giant kingdom, with a castle, three separate villages, and a community market square thing. This is a pretty arduous task so I think that I will start it later in the posts. I want to at least have gotten to the end. Finally, the last two things that I did was build a fountain and some stables. Here is a picture:

Finally, If anyone wants to join me on my server, then go ahead and comment that you do.

Day 6: Fishing farm upgrading and Skeleton grinder

Today I built a quick and easy skeleton grinder, not for the XP, but for the bones and arrows. My killing mechanism is just using the sun and I have a hopper and chest underneath to connect the drops.
I also upgraded my fish farm so that I can AFK Overnight. I added a timer connected to a dispenser that shoots out fishing rods to me. I just have to fill up my inventory with something and tape down my left mouse button, and when the fishing rod breaks, it gives me another one. Here is a picture.
I am starting a big project that I will report to you about when I start it. I am going to tell you about it tomorrow.

Day 5: Building an Epic House for my Friend

Today I built an awesome house for my friend, he really wanted one. I added it to our little village that we have going, connected via pathway. Here are a few pictures of the inside and outside.

To build this house, I just used the same process that I used to build my first house. Other than building this (Which took me like 20 minutes) I built a small farmland garden thing right next to my house. Sorry this post is so short, I have been doing homework all day :(.

Day 4: AFK-able Auto Fishing Station

Today I built an AFK-able auto fishing station. Basically, it allows me to tape my left mouse button down and it will get me free food, with expense of fishing rods and time. I will show you how to too. Here are a few easy steps to build your own. I will just be putting in pictures because they should be extremely easy to follow.
Step 1:
Step 2:
Step 3:
And that's it! Just three easy steps to make your own fish farm. The slab right in front of the chest is what your stand on, from there look into the water at the iron door, and just hold right click. Also if you add a roof over your fish farm like I did, keep an air space or transparent block (glass) over the water, it will allow you to catch fish much faster. If you want to, you can add more storage because it runs out pretty fast. Here is my finished version:
Other than building this, I have just been doing other chores like chopping wood, mining, you know, the usual. By the way, let me know if there are specific things you want me to post about.

Day 3: The Nether

Today I decided that I needed to travel to the nether because I would like some glowstone for nice looking lights and netherrack for my fireplace. Here are some tips and tricks for surviving in the nether: First, be prepared for any problem so that you can react quickly. This includes occasions like if you fall in lava, accidentally hit a pigman, or if you are attacked by a ghast. Second, always have a clean and organized inventory (This one kind of relates to the first tip). Always keep the necessary items on your hotbar, like blocks, a pickax, a sword, food, and a bow (If you can bring potions, otherwise don't worry about it). Here is an example of a clean inventory:
Third, get in and get out fast. When you are in the nether, even a small slip can end in your demise, so get in, grab what you need, and get out fast. If you are going to stay for a long period of time in the nether, plan for it, make sure you have an excess of blocks and food. Fifth, bring bowls. This may sound crazy, but in the nether, red and brown mushrooms spawn pretty frequently. So that if you run out of food, you will still have a last resort. Sixth, leave a trail of torches or blocks so that you can find your way back to the portal (or you can just write down the coordinates).

Anyways, when I was in the nether I grabbed lots netherrack and glowstone so that I won't be needing to come back anytime soon. On a random note, I almost burnt down my house with the fireplace I was talking about... Now I think I will keep it unlit. Here are some tips on how to make a fireplace that won't burn your house down: Make sure there are non-flammable blocks 3 blocks above and to each side, as well as 1 block in each direction. Also, make sure the fire is enclosed partly (on each side).  Lately, I have been spending some time doing chores, gathering wood, mining, etc. Luckily this paid off and I finally got enough diamonds to make a diamond pickaxe and an enchanting table. Now I just need to find some books...

Day 2: Building a Fabulous House

Today I built a fabulous house. This took me about 2-3 hours to build, but it was totally worth it! Now I have an awesome place to live and store my stuff! How I built this house: First, I chose my pallet, this included dark oak and normal oak planks and logs, cobblestone and stone brick. Second, I built the frame out logs so that I would know where I should add too. Third, I filled in the walls with planks and glass. Fourth I added a nice balcony over a lake. Finally, I added the roof on top. I put some decorations around the house too, like flowers and a pathway. Overall I think it was a great success, even though it took a long time to make. Here is a picture:
